The owners of this cottage, Suzanne and Brooks Kelley, developed a fascination with sod roofs on a sightseeing trip to Norway, so they planted the same species of sedum on their cottage roof that was used to line the walkway outside. Now the roof mirrors the landscape’s seasonal color changes, from red in the winter to a rich bluish green in the spring and summer.

“I promise to Patricia Ryan Nixon that I will not again seek public office.”
He dated the note, folded it, and put it in his wallet.
